Queenstown Yeti Demo Adventure Weekend

Last weekend we held our first ever Demo Adventure Weekend in Queenstown. We were a little surprised more riders didn't sign up, but it didn't damper the spirits of Phil and Gary who became our first ever guests on such a trip. All Mountain NZ put a great plan in place for the weekend and we had the lovely Erin Green as our guide to help us out on all the rides. We kicked things off with a fun little ride around 7 mile, which is more of an XC area, but has lots of fun trails and is a great way to test the bikes. For this ride Gary tested out the SB130 and Phil the SB150. Phil currently rides a SB5 and it...

Yeti 2020 full line up released

The full line up of 2020 bikes from Yeti is now public. The big news of course was the release of the two new 27.5 RIP bikes, the SB165 and SB140.  We are very excited to now have a complete line up of bikes that use similar geometry and technology, but each with distinct characteristics suiting different riders and styles. The new subtle graphics on all the bikes are a real winner in our minds. Pure class Yeti, we love it.  Please do take some time to look through the range, either at your local dealer (they all have one of these new Quiver books available to look through), at Yeti Cycles website.

Mat and Harriet try the all new SB140

The love of 27.5 continues... this time with a brand new shorter 140mm travel take on new school trail. Mat Wright took the bike out for a rip around the Wellington trails today... " First time back on 27 in long time and very impressed with fruitiness of it. Man going up hill it rolls but then it just has the feeling that it wants to play. With the bigger tires it held the ground comfortably. Pretty insane for a small bike. Super stable. I remember the SB5 feeling agile and fun, but now this bike adds the stability and confidence of these new angles. It also seems to roll better too. In the air, it feels like we were floating. This thing is going...

OPEN WI.DE custom build

We had some fun putting together a sweet OPEN WI.DE build last week with thanks from our friends at Back Alley Bikes. This amazing new frame has increased the clearance to fit tires as big as 700x46 or 27x2.4.  We built this display bike with the new SRAM Force AXS / XX1 mullet drive chain and brakes, with Easton carbon EC70 handlebar and stem, Enve G23 rims, Chris King Hubs, Maxxis ReFuse 40mm tires, Fizik Arione saddle, Thomson stem, Fizik grip tape. The weight of this build (size large frame) came in just shy of 8km. Not bad for a bike as versatile and capable as this one ! Look out for this bike around the country, as it will...

Great news just came in for anyone lusting after a new OPEN U.P.  "We have good news for you. The NEW UP comes into his third production year and we have written off all our mould costs (thats always a big cost factor as we don't have the production numbers as many big players do). So here in NZ this means we can now reduce the NEW UP to $4900 (Down from $5400). U.P.P.E.R and ONE + will stay as they are.
