This year we decided to host a low key riding camp in Rotorua for riders to get to know each other, ride lots and have fun. We timed the camp for the final 2W Enduro, so most riders also raced this. Not all riders could make it, but we still had a great crew turn up. We stayed at the Southstar Evergreen, which was an amazing house designed for MTBers, just perfect for groups like us and located just next to the forest. We spent one morning on a private shuttle thanks to Mountain Bike Rotorua and were lucky to be able to use Direct Road instead of the regular shuttle hill. This allowed us access to fun trails such...
I have always wanted to put on a training camp and after a few years of thinking about it and chatting with both Sam Thompson (NZ MTB Acadamy) and Erin Eggelston (QE Health) and Roshni Mistry (my wonderful wife) we finally got one off the ground. For my first camp, I invited the riders of the Yeti NZ Devo Team, as we sponsor them and they are the perfect guinea pigs for us to test our theories on. Originally the idea was Sam would run the camp, but in the end he was overseas with kiwi riders most of the year, so Roshni and I just committed to a date, then made it happen. Our challenge was to inspire the...
The first year of the Yeti NZ Enduro Devo team is a wrap. Congratulations to all the riders for their awesome efforts. Our focus in this first year was to to help these riders as much as we could with their personal goals and to have some fun riding and racing bikes together. It was pretty relaxed, but we tried to give the riders some knowledge about training, nutrition and other aspects of racing through fortnightly zoom calls. Thanks to our other sponsors for help making it happen : Yeti Cycles, Fox Suspension, Shimano NZ. And for product support from Blue Shark, Marleen and Wide Open. Here is a quick overview of the year : We all met up together at...
One of the goals for the Yeti NZ Enduro Devo Team is to help prepare riders as best possible, so when they go overseas they have the best possible chance of success. Its an expensive business to travel to Europe and try your hand at world cup racing, so its wise to go prepared. This year we had four riders (Bradley Harris in , Joe Millington, Dylan Walton & Ollie Jenkins)travel over for three World Cup EDR (Enduro) events, as they were close together and it made for a compact trip in central europe. Dylan unfortunately wasn't qualified for the Pro events so had to race the Open races, but decided to go and get the experience and make the most...
Switch Infinity utilizes a patented translating pivot that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. This provides a tailored anti-squat curve while delivering a fine-tuned leverage ratio. Yeti recommend using their grease gun to add new grease between every 25-100hrs based on conditions. We also recommend checking the bearings and grub screws every 300-400hrs. To check the grub screws, please follow instructions below. You need to remove the non drive side bearing first. Behind this are 4 grub screws. You will need a 2mm allan key to back them right off. Then tighten back up until snug. If you use 12pm as a reference, tighten them to 1pm. And best to do them in this order : Top left - Bottom right...
