Mat and Harriet try the all new SB140

The love of 27.5 continues... this time with a brand new shorter 140mm travel take on new school trail. Mat Wright took the bike out for a rip around the Wellington trails today... " First time back on 27 in long time and very impressed with fruitiness of it. Man going up hill it rolls but then it just has the feeling that it wants to play. With the bigger tires it held the ground comfortably. Pretty insane for a small bike. Super stable. I remember the SB5 feeling agile and fun, but now this bike adds the stability and confidence of these new angles. It also seems to roll better too. In the air, it feels like we were floating. This thing is going...

Nelson, Old Ghost Road & Heaphy track mission

After another fun, but busy summer, both Mat and I decided we wanted to do some big days in the saddles and explore somewhere new. We had both been talking about the Old Ghost Road and Heaphy tracks for ages and so the idea for this ride was born. We ended up doing a massive and absolutely stunning three days of riding. Day one was spent shuttling in Nelson with friends curtesy of Gravity Nelson, plus additional runs at Cable Bay Adventure Park with our friend Richard Ussher. Then we headed out to the Old Ghost Road, leaving before light and finishing after dark. This is a true NZ classic and my only regret is not taking longer and spending some...

Read on to find out more about Jo, the style of yoga she teaches and come along to her class at the shop. Beginners are totally welcome! Please bring your own mat. We are asking participants to contribute $5 each to a Mountain Bike Otago fund towards developing the Signal Hill trail network. What does yoga mean to you?  Yoga is about the connection between the mind, the body and the breath. We live in a busy, fast-paced world and a yoga practice can be a little sanctuary of self care.   What...

MY Giant Adventure

This year I decided to make the trip to the Giant show a little more fun by building up a nice Giant XTC and add some bike packing bags so I could get around without a car. It was a pretty basic setup, but it did the job.     I managed to sneak out for a few laps of Nerang, which was the site for the recent Commonwealth Games. I had forgotten how tough it is to ride a hardtail with no dropper. The tracks here are rough !! After 2 hours on the trails my arms felt like they were going to fall off.    Then finally I made it to the Giant MY19 show... a big day listening...
