LOCAL SERVICE. NATIONAL SUPPORT.

From 1st June 2026 we are simplifying our sales and service process. Sales through Blackseal. NZ wide support through Service Centres.

The dealers you already know and trust are staying on as YETI service centres.

Service Centres get paid for every job, warranty and referrals. They get better support from us, no matter who sold the bike.

As from today, all RRP's have been lowered by approx 10% permanently.

Why the change

The old model — brand, distributor, bike shop, customer — was built for a world where bike shops could afford to carry stock and have bikes on the floor for customers to see and demo. COVID and the cost-of-living crisis changed that world.

Today, bike shops have split into two camps: larger shops focused on selling a major bike brands to the whole family and independent service centres focused on smaller bike brands supporting riders. We are working with the smaller bike shops who were our Yeti Dealers, they will be our service centres— they are the mechanics who are in the workshop every day, keeping bikes running and riders moving.

Before You Buy

We'd rather you bought the right one than the wrong one — so we'd rather get on the phone or share a coffee than push you through checkout.

Talk to us. Email sales@blackseal.co.nz or come and find us at the Rotorua showroom. Real replies, usually within a day. No commission, no sales script — just a chat about what you ride, where you ride, and which Yeti fits.

Ride one first. We've got a range of demo bikes at our Rotorua HQ, available to hire by the day. There's a hire fee, but we credit it back against your bike if you buy a Yeti from us. A few hours on the bike beats a week reading reviews. See the demo fleet →

Purchasing Your Yeti

Every Yeti is bought through us — online, or in person at our Rotorua showroom.

Configure your bike, pick your build options, and we handle the rest. Pricing is the same whether you buy from your laptop in Invercargill or standing in front of us in Rotorua.

Payment options:

  • Bank transfer / direct deposit
  • Credit card
  • Q Card / Q Mastercard — 12 months interest-free
  • WorkRide (employer salary-sacrifice scheme — fee applies)
  • The Wheel Deal (employer salary-sacrifice scheme — no fee)

Pay in full or hold with a deposit. Order at full price, or lock the bike in with a 20% deposit — the balance is due before delivery or pickup.

Lead time (for bikes in stock):

  • Built by us in Rotorua: 3–5 days to build, then 2 days delivery to the North Island or 5–7 days to the South Island.
  • Built by a Service Centre: Same delivery time to the centre. The build itself depends on how booked the Service Centre is — we'll confirm timing before you commit.

Changed your mind? It depends on what you ordered:

  • Bike in stock: You forfeit any costs we've already incurred — build labour, freight, that kind of thing. The rest is refunded.
  • Special order (a bike we've brought in specifically for you): The 20% deposit is forfeit.

The earlier you let us know, the cheaper it gets.

Free freight on every new bike, anywhere in New Zealand.

Choosing Who Builds Your Yeti

Every Yeti is built by hand — unboxed, assembled, tuned, and handed over by a trusted mechanic. Two ways to do it:

At your local Service Centre. Pick one from the network below. Your bike ships there, they build it, you pick it up and sit down with the mechanic for a proper handover. This is the way for most riders — you walk out with a relationship, not just a bike.

At our Rotorua workshop. Not close to a Service Centre? Want us to do it? We build new bikes here and hand them over at our showroom on Amohau Street. Or we'll freight it free to your door — find your favourite local shop later.

Either way: built by hand, by a mechanic who knows the bike.

The Service Centres

What they do for you

Every Service Centre on this page is set up to:

  • Build your new Yeti — by hand, from the box, properly tuned.
  • Do your first service — already paid for by us, as part of your new bike.
  • Keep your Yeti humming — regular services, suspension rebuilds, drivetrain work, all the everyday stuff that keeps a bike riding sweet. Booked and billed directly with your Service Centre.
  • Reward you with YETI$ — earn $1 of YETI$ for every $100 spent on a yearly service, up to $5 per service. What's YETI$? →
  • Handle any warranty work — diagnosed there, claim filed with us, labour on us.
  • Stock the spares you'll need — common Yeti spares on the shelf, the rest a call to Rotorua away.

Some go further — demo bikes, full suspension service, bike fitting, group rides, ride-and-coffee mornings. Check each profile for what they specialise in.

When something goes wrong

Bikes break. That's not a failure of the bike or the shop — that's mountain biking. Here's how it works:

  1. Take it to your Service Centre. They diagnose it.
  2. If it's a warranty issue — they file the claim with us, we approve it, and the labour's on us. You don't see a bill.
  3. If it's not — wear, tear, crash damage, that kind of thing — it's a normal repair job between you and your Service Centre, same as any other bike work.

Either way, you get back on the trail.

Bought your Yeti from one of our previous dealers? Your warranty stays with that shop — first stop is to take the bike back to them. If for any reason they can't help or no longer exist, get in touch and we'll do our best to sort you out.

Simple as that. No fine print.

Find your Service Centre

Each centre has its own profile — the team, what they specialise in, and how to book a build. Profiles go live as we roll them out.

  • BRM Cycles — Auckland
  • Velo Espresso — Hamilton
  • Ride Rotorua — Rotorua
  • Get Lost Cycling — Wellington
  • Back Alley Bikes — Christchurch — see profile
  • Willbike — Alexandra
  • Bikeaholic — Queenstown
  • JRA Bicycles — Wānaka

Your local shop could be on this list

Your favourite bike shop isn't on it? Tell us who.

We don't run exclusive areas. We don't run a closed network. If you've got a workshop you trust — one that knows your riding, fits your bikes, fixes them when they break — drop us their name. If we get enough requests for the same shop, we'll reach out.

You ride with the shop you trust. We just want to make sure they get paid properly when they look after your Yeti.

(Suggest-a-Service-Centre form coming soon — for now, email sales@blackseal.co.nz.)
