2014 was a pretty awesome year for cycling in Dunedin. Here's what we think the top five moments were, and we'll try to keep it short and sweet. 1. Three Peaks EnduroThe original NZ enduro event, this year was the third and biggest Three Peaks Enduro - 200 riders from across the world rode and raced for one epic weekend. 2. Shop Rides, Ladies Rides, Massive Track Building Our shop rides restarted in October, and Ladies Rides a month later. Going hand-in-hand with 3 Peaks there has been some really extensive track building in Dunedin this year, which is totally awesome. We're also thinking about a ladies-only team for Naseby in 2015, who's keen?3. Cyclocross Southern SeriesWhile the Three Peaks Enduro...
A lot of people have been asking us whether we supply electric conversion kits. For ages the answer was no, but then we got in touch with Kiwi company Lekkie. We fitted one of their kits a few months ago and were seriously impressed, so we've decided to become a dealer - so now the answer is YES!Lekkie supply two electric conversion kits - but how do you choose between them? If your main use will be commuting or relatively gentle paths/trails, we'd recommend the Explorer. It's a simple bolt-on conversion that replaces your rear wheel, and in our eyes it looks a little neater too. You don't need to ride a Yeti to wear Yeti shorts, but if you'd like a Yeti bike to go with your new Yeti shorts we'd be happy...
Part Four of our staff interview series - Nigel Bourban, the new guy. He's working at Bike Otago over the summer, getting in as much riding as he can before going back to his home in the Swiss Alps! Where are you from Nigel?Nendaz, in the Swiss Alps. (Nigel tells us it's quite pretty. We googled it - he's right!) Can you yodel? No. I still have my balls. What do you ride?Enduro! I have just built up my own Yeti SB5C. It's really nice, like it's built for the trails in New Zealand. What do you miss? Food - raclette, croute de fromage, rosti... (we're spotting a cheesy theme here Nigel) Do you like working with Joel? What can I say?...
