Mat recently did some riding and compared the new cheaper Enve AM30 wheels to the higher end M730 rims laced to i9 Hydra hubs. He was doing a crazy January challenge to ride 1000km, which took him 65hrs and he climbed over 22,470m. Yikes. He was riding his SB150 but changed his wheels half way (as we sold his other set). So it was good opportunity to do some real world testing on how the wheels feel. To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Yeti Cycles, they have just released an ARC 35th Anniversary Edition! It is a modern 29” hard tail painted in classic Yeti Turquoise and yellow and riddled with custom matching parts harkening it back to the iconic race days of the nineties. It’s a limited-edition bike and only 100 will be produced. First launched in 1991, the original ARC was a collaboration with Yeti and Easton to produce a lightweight race frame. Frames during that time were typically made of Chromoly steel and weighed 5-6 pounds, but the new Easton ProTaper tubing reduced the weight to 3.2 lbs. and the ARC went on to dominate the race circuit. The ARC defined what a competitive race bike...
A few weeks ago we got a special delivery of two pre-launch Yeti SB115 bikes from Yeti. So Mat and I decided to hit the trails to test the bikes out and get some shots before the bike launch today. The bike builds off the success of the shorter travel SB100, but offers a few nice changes. “We’re always tinkering with the bikes we have at the shop and started to see if we could “lunch ride” the SB100,” said Yeti Product Manager, Ryan Thornberry. “We kept pushing the boundaries of what the SB100 was capable of and we ended up with a bike that accentuates all of the great characteristics found in the SB100 with a touch more travel...
