The Otago Regional Council has been working hard the past few weeks to help create a trail that celebrate's Dunedin's very own little river - The Water of Leith. The #lovetheleith River Trail is a self-guided, 4km trail for kids and families to get immersed in local nature, connect with the Leith and learn what happens on the river. Opening just in time for Otago Anniversary Weekend (Saturday 18 March), the #lovetheleith trail will begin at the lower entrance of Ross Creek Trail and take you on a 10 stop journey along the river ending at the harbour mouth next to Forsyth Barr Stadium. Share your adventure along the trail on social media with the hashtag #lovetheleith between 18 March...
Since being founded in 2007, Lezyne has held a strict belief on creating quality cycling accessories that meet the same high standards as high-end bicycle components. Starting in 2015 Lezyne decided to branch into the GPS cycling computer game with the same high quality standards as their accessories, giving us some of the best GPS computers on the market. Good enough that every one of our mechanics chooses Lezyne as their go-to GPS of choice for all of their rides. For their "Year 10 Collection" Lezyne has introduced 5 GPS devices as well as 2 new GPS watches, packing all the same power and features of their cycling computers into a wearable device. At the top of the line is...
With Christmas now less than two weeks away, if you're anything like us, you're probably starting to get into that last-minute gift buying panic. But fear not, our staff has helped pick out some shop favourites sure to be perfect for any bike enthusiast. Joel - Marsh Guard Even in the peak of summer, Dunedin's trails can be victim to super muddy conditions. Keep that mud under control with a Marsh Guard, which mounts underneath your fork to keep the mud from flying as you head down the trail. We have several colour options, however Joel suggests the red one for more of a "festive holiday" feel. This simple gift will go a long way, keeping your rider happy...
Yeti Cycle's 2017 range recently landed in New Zealand, and since then we've been itching to get the chance to build up one of the frames. Well, our wishes came true and the result was this beauty of a custom SB6. Built up on Yeti's new TURQ series frame (made with the highest quality carbon fiber available, according to Yeti) this bike is looking to be an absolute enduro beast. With 6 inches of travel in the rear and a monster 170mm Rock Shox Lyrik up front, this SB6 is built to crush the downhill. Arguably the biggest attention grabber on the bike is the drivetrain. Also brand new for this year, SRAM's XX1 Eagle line pulled out all the...
Way back in 1998, Giro introduced the first mainstream mountain bike helmet with a removable chin bar - they called it the "Switchblade". In the 18 years since, there has been a variety of different iterations of this design to hit the market, but we think that Giro's update of the original classic is one of the best yet. Unlike some of the earlier designs of the removable chin bar helmet, focused on creating an XC style helmet with an attachable chin bar for added strength and support, the new Switchblade is entirely focused on the downhill. The helmet is ASTM Downhill Certified both with and without the chinbar, which utilizes stainless steel hardware and a series of internal anchors...
