With our new and improved larger shop space, we've been able to expand our horizons to bring in more brands and apparel. While we've been fans of their components for a long time, we're happy to introduce the Race Face clothing line to Bike Otago. We now carry a wide range of Race Face apparel, from jerseys to outerwear, technical wear, shorts, gloves, and more! Perfect for the upcoming warmer weather, the Indy short sleeve jersey is the perfect addition to any rider's closet. Its relaxed fit and moisture wicking material will leave you cool and dry on the ride, and its hidden stash pocket in the side panel doubles as a goggle wipe. Race Face offers a seemingly rainbow...
We've got a great selection of CatEye lights in store and are putting them on sale from now through the end of August! Even though the days are beginning to get longer and the sun is setting later and later, having a solid set of lights is one of the most useful purchases you can make for your bike. As a commuter, to be legally riding on NZ roads, you are required to have at least one front and one rear light. More importantly than getting you out of a ticket, having lights on your bike will keep you safe on the road, increasing your visibility to cars and other cyclists. CatEye has a great range of lights available from...
Jeremy and Kashi have just had a trip to Surfers Paradise to see the new range of Giant and Liv bikes for 2017. They were welcomed with a balmy 27dC... not much different from Dunedin ;) Our hotel had its own lagoon, complete with tropical fish to swim with. Yum Yum Passionfruits! The official part of the launch began with a few of Giant Taiwan's lead product developers and marketing managers giving an overview of the brands directions and some great insights. The LIV presentations were particularly interesting, as the talked a lot about the research that's gone behind the development of the women's specific bikes and the advantages for women of the various subtle changes we now see on these...
The crew had a tour and lunch today at the new Emersons new brewery which opened a few weeks ago to celebrate our own move into our new shop last month. The manager, Chris, showed us around and gave us some history on what is a hugely inspiring Dunedin story of someone with a huge passion and the determination to do things the way he knew was right. Emersons are a huge supporter of biking in Otago, sponsoring the road club, MTB Otago, the CX race series and are likely to become a major sponsor of the Urge 3 Peaks too. Its always nice to get together for a relaxing lunch with good people. Unfortunately Jeremy, Mel, Addy and Catylin couldn't make it due to illness,...
